Batam Trip (21 Aug 13 - 24 Aug 13)

Went to Batam with a friend.
We stayed near the infamous Nagoya Entertainment District (NED).
If you frequent pubs during your vacation this is the place you should consider in Batam.

This is the "map" I referred to, easy to understand and very simple.

Me and a friend stayed at Goodway Hotel.
It is cheap and good. The only downside is that there is no balcony.
In the day time there are not much activities for us to do.
KFC and McDonald's are nearby, a few 24/7 convenience stores around the area.
A couple of shopping malls you can go to namely Nagoya Hills Shopping Centre and Batam City Shopping Centre.

There are sport activities such as Jet Ski, Banana Boat, Para-sailing, Kayaking, etc.
Everything is located somewhere near Waterfront area in Batam.
CableSki activity at Batam Cable Ski Park.
We only did Go-Kart though.

Taxi to anywhere near the activities area cost about IDR85000 which is about SGD10.

Walking around NED is a really uneasy, for me atleast.
That's why no pictures were taken, nothing much really.
People there will either ask "Taxi? Taxi?!" or "Cewek? Cewek?!"
Cewek is a direct translation for girl in Bahasa Indonesia.

It's prostitution.

Of course I had to maneuver my way around them and jump into a pub.
It feels much much more safer inside.

But when you're inside, be prepared to get swarmed by Batam girls who work there.
They will ask you to buy them drinks (which they get commission from) and before you know it your bill is over a hundred dollars.
They are good at doing their job, they will make you feel like you're the most handsome guy in the world.
Don't fall for it, it's their job.

Get yourself a mirror.

Toilet at Lusy's Pub.
Sadly there was no chalk for me to leave my mark.
